Parents & Carers Group

To make the most of the DBT journey, we warmly invite parents and carers to join our Parent & Carers Group, created to give you the tools and confidence to support your teens as they build new skills.

This includes:

  • A 3-part pre-recorded video series, released in Weeks 1, 5, and 8, covering the same skills your teens will be learning.

  • Two 30-minute parent-and-teen sessions (skills-focused), scheduled during Weeks 5 and 7, to help put the learning into practice together.

The fee for the Parents and Carers Group is an additional $350.

Intake

A 60 minute consultation that will include an intake on current symptoms, problem areas, history taking, self report measures and DBT goal setting. It will give the participant an opportunity to meet with Joanne or India prior to the group starting. The fee for the intake consultation is $295.

A message from our psychologist and DBT Skills Group facilitator India Cuttilan:

One thing I like about DBT is how it has a really practical solution for so many issues! If I’m feeling a bit down and want to do something to help but aren’t sure what, I can look at my pleasant events list which has so many suggestions and pick one thing to do or one that I want to work towards. For example, most recently this has been ‘planning a vacation’. I find that doing an activity that I enjoy or that is important to me can help improve my mood, especially when I combine the activity with being mindful, by giving all my attention to it and being present in each moment.

We are currently completing intakes for the groups so that we can meet with you, talk with you about your goals, and ultimately evaluate if the program is going to be valuable and effective for you. ⁣⁣⁣ Please come and join us!⁣
